Rachel E. Stephens
Rachel Stephens represents clients in a variety of commercial litigation involving breach of contract, business torts, professional liability, false advertising claims, insurance recovery disputes and non-competition and non-solicitation agreements. She has extensive experience with class actions in state and federal court involving consumer protection claims, trespass and nuisance claims brought against telecommunications companies, and toxic tort litigation. She has dealt with all aspects of class-action litigation, including class-wide discovery, certification, summary judgment, de-certification, and settlement.
Rachel has represented broker-dealers in multiple FINRA arbitrations and mediations involving claims of suitability of investments, breach of contract, fraud under federal and state securities laws, and enforcement of restrictive covenants. She particularly excels at analyzing investment information to help clients reach favorable resolution of such claims at mediation.
Rachel handles all aspects of case management and analysis, including discovery, witness preparation and deposition, dispositive motions, settlement negotiation and trial. She also has coordinated discovery in complex, multi-party cases with large volumes of documents, including propounding and responding to discovery, managing electronic discovery, and coordinating the review of documents, and pursuing and defending against discovery motions.
