Two Partners Recognized for Civil Rights Insurance Recovery Work on Missouri Lawyers’ Power List
KANSAS CITY (August 10, 2023) — Lathrop GPM Partners Michael J. Abrams and William G. Beck have been named to the Missouri Lawyers Media "POWER List" for commercial and consumer law.
The "Power List – Commercial and Consumer Law" features the most powerful attorneys in Missouri in commercial and consumer law as identified by Missouri Lawyer Media. The list is based on published appellate cases, interviews with attorneys and other leaders around the state, and the archives of Missouri Lawyers Weekly.
Abrams is a trial attorney who has obtained many noteworthy court decisions on behalf of companies from a wide range of industries. Named a "Litigation Trailblazer" by the National Law Journal for his procurement of influential legal decisions, Mike was also recognized by Missouri Lawyers Weekly for the Top Defense Verdict of 2018.
Beck is a veteran litigator with more than 35 years of experience. His national practice consists of numerous trials and other legal proceedings to resolve high-stakes, technical, complex disputes involving environmental liability and insurance coverage, including more than 80 federal and state Superfund sites in more than 25 states. He was selected as an ICON honoree by Missouri Lawyers Media in 2023.
Abrams and Beck were pioneers in establishing the firm’s niche Civil Rights Insurance Recovery team in 2004. Since then, the team has helped to recover nearly a quarter of a billion dollars for dozens of wrongfully convicted individuals.
